 April 30, 2023

The blue-and-white porcelain is a representative pattern of Chinese ceramics known to overseas art collectors.

Born into a family of blue-and-white porcelain makers, Cai Wenjuan, a Jingdezhen native chose to carry on the family craft of porcelain painting.

As a provincial inheritor of the blue-and-white porcelain making, Cai endeavors to pass on the craft by integrating the ancient charm of blue-and-white porcelain with modern aesthetics.

Cai launched her own brand to promote new painting designs. "Ceramics embrace change. I'm here to inherit the tradition in an innovative way, and then create my own works," she said. [Xinhua/Zhou Mi]
